Embracing Change: May-June

Dear Friends, Clients, and Neighbors,

This year, Wade and I chose “Embracing Change” as our theme — and little did we know just how deeply we’d be living it out.

April: The Power of Choice
In April, we were reminded of how powerful a single decision can be. We made a big choice — to leave our cozy little home on the channel (which we expected to enjoy for at least 10 more years!) for a unique opportunity to purchase a home on the river on Doty Island. It was unexpected, a bit emotional, and completely exciting.

May: Finding Stability in an Evolving Environment
The whirlwind of buying and selling hit full speed in May. Between closings, packing, and prepping our current home for sale, we felt like we were balancing on shifting sand. We’ve officially closed on our new home, and our little house has already received an offer. The big move is happening mid-June!
This experience gave us a whole new appreciation for what our clients go through — the emotional highs, the logistical chaos, and the anticipation of new beginnings. It’s stressful but also incredibly rewarding.

June: Society and Culture
As we prepare for life in a new neighborhood, we’re reflecting on what it means to step into a different society and culture. While we’ve lived in the Fox Cities before, leaving Winneconne and joining a new community is a big transition. It’s a reminder that “home” isn’t just about a house — it’s about the people, the rhythms, and the connections you build.

Our little home had steep stairs — technically more like a ladder due to the incline — and while we weren’t quite ready for a full ranch layout, the new home we’re moving into allows us to age in place comfortably in the years ahead. It’s a style that fits not just our tastes, but our future. That’s the beauty of real estate — it evolves with your life.
